In the quiet coastal town of Ashridge Bay, Emi Hayashi lives a simple, structured life. Reserved and thoughtful, she spends her days quietly drifting through school, evenings journaling lyrics she never shares, and nights dreaming of something more than the stillness of home. She’s used to being overlooked — until Kira Thompson arrives.
Kira, a bold and brash South London transplant, is everything Emi isn’t: loud, unpredictable, and instantly magnetic. A guitarist with a messy past and a guarded heart, Kira moves to town under difficult circumstances, crashing at her aunt’s place and keeping her defenses high. She’s not here to make friends — until Emi catches her off-guard with unexpected sincerity.
Thrown together by a school project and a shared love of music, Emi and Kira’s worlds slowly collide. What begins as cautious curiosity becomes a messy, beautiful connection — one that forces both girls to confront their fears, open old wounds, and ask what it really means to be seen.
